How about you stay where you are and we vote for whoever we want.

From: [email protected]   (Mon Oct 4 10:10:34 2004)
Nice friend! Apparently your friendships are based upon the politics of the friend's country. Who needs a friend like that? We no longer want to be friends with the Germans. No spine; just follow any dictator that comes along...

From: Ken   (Fri Oct 8 09:38:17 2004)
No spine? You consider it spineless to refuse to go along with the most powerful nation on the planet? They're arguing with giants...how can that be spineless? Nope...I agree with him, though I would term it "voting against Bush" as oppsed to "voting for Kerry". We are once again faced with no truly GOOD candidate, but Bush would be an example of a truly abhorent one. Oh...and based on the name of another commentor, it appears Bush has been renamed "Freedom"...and that's a horrid misnomer.

Shaking my head YET again... such young mis-informed kids. If Kerry is president, we won't have to inform our children we can just kill them. WOOHOO!

America will get the president its population deserves. (Poor swines!)

Well Ken, how does it take a spine to stand up to America? It's not like we are going to do anything to Germany. I don't really see how you could say that bush is the worst candidate. Although I would say that I could hope for a slightly better candidate, Bush is the best one this election. Although, yes, Kerry does have a plan and he will tell you if you just go to his website and look at the vague descriptions of his "plan." Go back to watching BBC Ken.

It's easy to say these things while my friends are over there! What about you guys! Enlist and put down your sandwich! and quit telling me to lay down my life while you are watching the evening news at dinner! The people that know they will never have to make any sacrifices or funeral ceremonies seem to have the most to say. Put up or shut up and serve!

From: Chris   (Sun Nov 14 23:12:19 2004)
In my humble opinion Bush was not the best candidate, Kerry did have a viable plan that he articulated three times on national television, and we are now screwed due to oour messed up bible thumping midwest. Bush will continue to abuse his power and go unimpeached as he has a majority in both houses, hunt for oil, dredge up more $$$ for his cronies, expand his activist "christian" agenda, and make a mess of things- just as he has done so far. Sorry, Martin, if that keeps you from having American friends- maybe you need to evaluate how you measure friendship, eh?

From: Ben   (Tue Nov 16 16:52:03 2004)
And I was just starting to like you Chris...lol. Are you talking about the debates? I watched the first one and part of the second and third ones (work) and I only remember hearing Kerry stating that he had a plan...never articulating one. But...perhaps I missed it. By the way, I am from the "bible-thumping midwest," yeah, nice generalization there. This is what Democrats will never understand. If you want to get a group of people to vote for your candidates DON'T CONDESCEND TO THEM. You see you state that the midwest is messed up ONLY because it went for Bush. Why don't you try to be a little more open minded. Maybe it is time for the Democratic party to take a look at what is wrong within instead of shouting abuse at those states which they did not win. Like...for instance...do you honestly believe that they couldn't come up with a better candidate than John Kerry? I think there would have been a bunch that would have had a better shot at beating Bush. But whatever. you have seemed pretty objective up until that last statement. Now you just sound like another pissed of dem.

I wish I could leave this message on all the message boards on this website, but I've got a life and some other stuff to do as well. I can't believe how some people who leave comments on this website are so blinded by the Bush Propaganda. YOU LIVE IN A COUNTRY DICTATED BY A TOTALITARIAN REGIME! Yes, I'm talking about Bush. America behaves like the good old school bully. The biggest kid on the playground. Nobody bothers him until, one day another kid from another playground comes along and kicks the crap out of him. What will the bully do? He'll beat up all the little kids who can't defend themselves to give the impression that he's the boss. Well done Mr Bush! In the civilised world we have a saying: "Hochmut kommt vor dem Fall". Now go, educate yourself and you might have a slight chance to understand it. Have you actually noticed how the majority of these non Americans speak English better than many Americans?

From: Ben   (Tue Nov 23 14:42:18 2004)
Ricky Swiss--Just like everybody else you make sweeping generalizations about my country. Say what you want, just back it up with something other than your false beliefs about the "majority" of Americans.

From: Chris   (Sun Nov 28 23:18:00 2004)
Ben- I will admit that I am angry that Kerry lost. I DID hear a message as to what he would do about the war in Iraq, the economy and deficit, and social programs. I did not however hear one from the prez. (Except of course- "more of the same"). I am confounded by how midwesterners think and feel. The mainstream media says- and what else do I have to go by- that the vote was decided by "moral issues" and it was the "chritian wing of the party" that voted him back in. I find that frustrating as I did not see Kerry as "immoral", but rather a good democrat concerned for the common good. (a seemingly good and moral thing, no?)

From: Ben   (Wed Dec 1 08:33:49 2004)
Chris--my respect for you grows everytime I read something you type. I really do hope that you are as objective as you seem to be. However, it just seems like there were dozens of better choices than Kerry for the Dems. It just didn't seem like Kerry had strong stances on anything. Now you can probably say that I didn't see it because the media has influenced me too much, etc. I watched the first debate and I heard him contradict himself with my own two ears. He was walking that party line and spouting that party rhetoric too easily. (of course it didn't help that I disagree with the Dems on most things) one time president Bush asked a general question to his audience about where the 3 trillion dollars that Kerry needed for his healthcare plan was gonna come from. All Kerry did in response was attack the president...again. What a wonderful opportunity he wasted to explain everything that he wanted to accomplish and how he was going to do that. I believe that is why many people didn't vote for him...because they were just too unsure who they were voting for. Also, how can you be mad at people who voted for Bush based on what is important to them? Perhaps a growing number of Americans doesn't support abortion and wanted to show that. That is the great thing about Democracy...you get to vote for what is important to you. We are in Iraq, and neither Kerry or Bush is getting us out of that anytime soon, so people voted for whatever else they thought was important. I was pretty shocked at how many Democrats handled/are handling this election. They lost...time to get over it.

From: Chris   (Thu Dec 2 22:29:45 2004)
Ben- The way you feel about the President is the way I felt about Kerry. I thought Kerry's repsonses were specific and I further felt he was tryiong to clarify to the country who he is. Conversely, I felt Bush's comments were broad, full of rhetoric, inarticulate and unintelligent. The thing is, a devout democrat like myself will never agree with a devout republican. Our ideals are very different and neither will ever change our core beliefs on what we feel is good and just. Yes, the dems have to now suck it up and deal with it- they have to regroup and determine what they can do to make their voices heard and represent. But it still stings. What a great many comments on this website have however, are statements of fear of Bush policies. I don't know what the concensus would be (Bush vs. Kerry) but many seem to share the same fears that dems have.
